PRIVACY POLICY FOR ZEE MARATHI WHATSAPP BUSINESS ACCOUNT

We, Zee Entertainment Enterprises Limited (“We”, “Us”, “ZEEL”) value the trust placed in Us by You and therefore, we follow the highest standards of privacy guidelines to protect the information shared by You with Us.

Zee Marathi (hereinafter referred to as “Channel”), a television channel owned and operated by ZEEL has intended on extending its reach and achieving greater traction among its viewers and customers by establishing communication on a personal level by creating a WhatsApp business account for promotion of the Channel as well as it is made abundantly clear that the Channel can receive the valuable opinions, feedbacks, views and reactions of the customers with regards to the various fiction and non-fiction programmes of the Channel.

Zee Marathi via the WhatsApp Business Account will communicate with viewers and/or customers and/or participants and/or user and/or subscriber (“You”/ “Your”) and You will not be able to chat with the WhatsApp Business Account.

ZEEL and/or Zee Marathi may use the contact database and the personal information obtained through such contact database so created via the WhatsApp business account for surveys and/or promotion activities only and for any other activities in relation and incidental thereto. Such contact database and the personal information obtained through such contact database may also be used for promotional purposes related to Zee Marathi’s shows, events, contests and other activities including but not limited to its programmes.

This Privacy Policy (“Privacy Policy”) governs the use of Your Personal Information shared (as defined below) with or collected by ZEEL from Your connection with the WhatsApp business account, including the WhatsApp web version, and mobile applications (“WhatsApp”).

Your viewing of communication initiated by us or communicating with us on the WhatsApp platform is construed to mean that You consent to our collection, use, storage, processing, alteration, retrieval, indexing, erasure, making available of, and/or transfer (“Processing”) of your Personal Information shared with us while connecting with the WhatsApp business account of the Channel, in accordance with this Privacy Policy and you agree to be bound by the terms of this Privacy Policy.

If You do not agree with the terms contained herein, please do not view, browse or download and immediately desist connection with WhatsApp business account. You are free to withdraw your consent at any given time, however such withdrawal could result in an interruption to services provided by Us. I. Collection of Personal Data

Personal Information or Personally Identifiable Information or Personal Data (Personal Data) means data/information about or relating to a natural person and in this instance it is You.

You understand and accept that we collect Your Personal Data to provide You with the best in-class user experience and services in the following ways:-

We may collect inter alia Your name, mobile number, email, address, IP Address, zip code, age, gender, occupation etc when you view or interact with us via our WhatsApp business account or email, our support pages or chatbots. This information is collected to provide You with a customised user experience through a dedicated user account, i.e. Channel’s WhatsApp business account.

2. We collect information regarding Your usage of our services through log data, cookies and similar technologies while connecting with the WhatsApp business account. We collect this data to ensure a customised seamless experience to You so that You may enjoy our shows and/or services as and when you prefer.

3. Please note that ZEEL and/or Zee Marathi does not directly collect any financial information from You.

If You choose to log-in, access or otherwise connect to WhatsApp, through a third-party service (such as Facebook, Twitter, etc), we may, for example, collect your user ID and user name associated with that service, as well as any information You make public using that service. We may also collect information You have authorized that service to share with Us through such WhatsApp business account (such as Your user ID, billing information, public profile information, email address, birthday, and other account and profile data).

5. If You choose to post messages on social media accounts, message boards, chat rooms or other message areas or leave feedback, we will collect that information You provide to Us. We retain this information as necessary to resolve disputes, provide customer support and troubleshoot problems as permitted by law.

Whilst We try and ensure that our authorised partners are committed to observing strictest privacy practices, they are independent entities in themselves and hence would be subject to their own Privacy Policies and practices. We strongly recommend You to view and familiarise yourself with those policy documents.

Through this WhatsApp business account surveys may ask You for contact information and demographic information (like zip code, age, etc). We use this data to tailor Your experience on Zee Marathi, providing You with content that We think You might be interested in and to display content according to Your preferences.

You further understand and accept that we may use the personal data provided to communicate through various modes like Phone Call, SMS, message, email, to You at regular intervals to notify You of, among other things, various offers, new content, exclusive deals etc., that may be available or new ventures that You may be interested to consume etc. By communicating with our WhatsApp Business Account, You expressly consent to receiving such communications from Us at regular intervals. However, if You do not wish to receive any communication from Us, You may request to change your preferences by sending an e-mail to hizeemarathi@zee.com.

6. Except as provided herein, You understand and accept that we do not solicit any Sensitive Personal Information about You. However, if You share such information with us voluntarily, we will not be liable for any actions, claims, costs, expenses or other liabilities that may arise as a consequence of such any unauthorized use or misuse of such information.

You further understand, accept agree that we may also disclose or transfer Your Personal Information, inside or outside India strictly on confidential terms, with law enforcement agencies, regulatory bodies or judicial bodies in relation to a legal dispute or for any other purposes if called upon or to prevent, detect, mitigate, and investigate fraudulent or illegal activities related to ZEEL and/or Zee Marathi. We may also disclose Your Personal Data if we, in the good faith believe that such disclosure is reasonably necessary to respond to subpoenas, court orders, or other legal process.

4. Third parties in order to provide You access to Zee Marathi and facilitate Your participation in any contest, game or activity conducted by ZEEL, to comply with Our legal obligations.

However, You expressly consent to usage of such Personal Information.

In the event ZEEL is merged with or acquired by another company or in case of re-organization or restructuring of business, we and our affiliates will share Your Personal Information, wholly or in part, with another business entity.

ZEEL and/or Zee Marathi via the WhatsApp Business Account on WhatsApp may provide links to various third-party websites that may collect Your Personal Data. Use of Your information collected by such third-party platform will be governed by the privacy policy of such third-party platform. ZEEL has no control on the operation of such third-party websites and You may share information with such third-party at Your sole risk. ZEEL shall not be liable to You for any misappropriation of Your Personal Information by such third-party.

You further understand and accept that we retain Personal Data only for as long as We believe is necessary for purposes set out herein. We may be required to retain it for a longer period of time for any legal, regulatory or statutory requirements.

This Privacy Policy is subject to change from time to time without any written notice to You. We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to modify the terms of this Privacy Policy from time to time in order to ensure compliance with applicable laws (“Updated Terms”). The Updated Terms shall be effective immediately and shall supersede these terms of this Privacy Policy. Upon updating the Policy, we may revise the “Updated” date at the bottom of this Privacy Policy. We will not be under an obligation to notify you of any changes to this Privacy Policy. You shall be solely responsible for reviewing the Privacy Policy from time to time for any modifications. By continuing to communicate with the Business Account of Zee Marathi on WhatsApp after the Updated Terms have been published, You affirm Your agreement to the Updated Terms.
