If you have considered adopting a dog, then, Siddharth Chandekar and Mitali Mayekar will show what it's like to be a pet parent.

Recently, I came across Siddharth Chandekar’s pictures with Mitali Mayekar’s labrador, which made me happy. In the pictures, the Gulabjaam actor and the dog, Dora seemed to get along like bread and jam (can we be a part of their group, too?). However, becoming a pet-parent is hard as there comes a lot of responsibility. If you are looking to welcome a PAWFECT member to your clan, here are breeds you can pick from according to your needs!

If you adore Siddharth Chandekar just as much as us, then watch his film Gulabjaam on Zee5

1. If you get worried at the drop of your hat

When your PTSD and anxiety kicks in, a doggo can certainly help you cope with the hovering negativity. Their happy nature and natural instincts will take your mind of those thoughts; without them expecting anything in return. Their nature to please the owners and intelligence will come into play when your anxiety triggers.

Dog breeds you should consider adopting: Dachshund, Labrador, Pug and Golden Retriever.

2.    If you are a family man

When you belong to a large household with kids, getting a canine new addition can be a bit tricky. It is important to have adults present around with dogs and kids intermingling. These dogs need to be calm and adaptable to the family conditions.

Dog breeds you should consider adopting: Pug, Boston Terrier, Collie and Poodle.

3.   If loyalty is of utmost importance to you

You need a breed that is alert and extremely loyal.  The intimidating, German Shepards and Rottweilers exhibit qualities of devotion and attentiveness, checking the boxes required for this position. You can even consider Great Danes and Labradors. Don’t be daunted by their size, as they are complete marshmallows from inside.

Dog breeds you should consider adopting: Great Dane, Labradors, German
Shepards and Rottweiler.

4. If you want a small, easy-going breed

The size of the dog is important especially when you’re constantly travelling with your pet or there is space constraint. Getting breeds like Great Dane, Golden Retriever, Husky or Labrador isn’t a feasible option.

In such cases, Maltese, Lhasa Apso and Shih Tsu are generally known for their calm nature. Although, be alert with Shih Tzu’s energetic moods and Pugs’ hyperallergic reactions to things.

Dog breeds you should consider adopting: Chihuahuas, Pugs, Maltese, Pekingese, Lhasa Apso and Shih Tzu.

5.    If want to go easy on the pocket

When you are struggling with your hectic schedule, keeping up with the needs of your dog can be difficult. You should opt for doggos that don’t shed and are easy to train. Chihuahua, Basset Hound and Whippet listen to you easily and are very relaxed. Although, they do need a good walk once in a day.

Dog breeds you should consider adopting: Cocker Spaniel, Chihuahua, Basset Hound, Greyhound and Whippet

As an ardent animal lover, I believe in “ADOPT DON’T SHOP” policy. There are pages on Facebook that promote adoption; you could check the one nearest to you. On that note, tell me, when are you planning to become a pet parent?
