1. Determination to learn
Yesubai was the daughter of Pilajirao Shirke- a Maratha Sardar and the queen of Chhatrapati Sambhaji. In Swarajyarakshak Sambhaji, we see Yesubai was ready to learn the political conditions plaguing her husband’s mind. Always yearning to understand, Yesubai kept herself informed about the courtly problems.

2. Being Sambhaji's equal
Back then, a King was allowed to have as many wives as he pleased for political alliances. Even though Yesubai had consorts, but she stepped alongside Sambhaji while being his equal. The royal couple spoke politics and courtly matters during their horse riding sessions. Her intellectual mind and ability to comprehend made her a memorable queen.

Swarajyarakshak Sambhaji shows us the strength Yesubai bore emotionally. She understood Sambhaji’s royal position and gave her opinions without mincing words. More importantly, Maharaj listened to what she had to say and made his decisions accordingly.

She had a major influence over Shambhu Raje. Even when she, along with her husband was in captivity, Yesubai was Sambhaji’s backbone. Her loyalty towards Swarajya did not deter will being a refugee for numerous years.
